Kitesurfing is indeed one of the most amazing water sports that exists nowadays.
Nevertheless, let's not forget that it is an extreme sport and should only be learned with official schools and professionals of the industry. Here are the important points to take into consideration when setting up your kitesurfing gear.
Check weather conditions and keep it safe.
Make sure the wind is not too strong or even too low for kitesurfing. Also waves and currents could become an obstacle, so always observe. Check our post on rip currents HERE
Choose your kite size wisely.
Depending on wind conditions, as not to take too small or too big.
But if in doubt, always go smaller...it's safer! Check our post about this HERE
Check where to set up
Make a good analysis of your spot and surroundings and take an open site to mount your gear.
Pump your kite.
Make sure your kite is pumped hard enough.
Remember that if you do not so, it can be dangerous as you won't be able to relaunch.
Avoid lines to be twisted. Our tip is to always set up the lines downwind.
Very important part of the process, as you need to make sure the front lines and the outside lines are placed in the correct tip ends.
Quick release and depower.
Double check the quick release is working perfectly and the depower/power system too.
And yes, finally, you're good to go and
launch your kite
